Annual Meeting of the Membership

1st Ed Credit Union will hold its Annual Meeting this year virtually on Monday, April 18 at 6:30pm ET.

Vote for 1st Ed’s Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee!!

All primary members who are 18 years of age or older are eligible to vote at any 1st Ed branch location beginning Monday, April 4 at 9 AM until Saturday, April 9 at 12 PM. Only one vote per primary member is permitted, and you must be present in person to vote.

This year, there are three Board of Directors’ candidates for three board positions and one Supervisory Committee candidate for one committee position.  Their biographical data is available below, and will also be available in all 1st Ed branch locations beginning April 4.

Board of Directors candidates

Deborah Westover (Incumbent)

Deborah resides with her husband, Gordon, in Shippensburg, PA. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Arts in Personnel Administration & Industrial Relations from Saint Francis University. She also completed coursework at the University of Maryland.

Deborah retired in October 2015 after serving over 25 years as Business Administrator/Board Secretary of the Shippensburg Area School District. During her career she was active in the Pennsylvania Association of School Business Officials, serving in leadership positions at the regional level.

Deborah was a member of the 1st Ed Credit Union Supervisory Committee from 2005-2015. She became a member of the Board of Directors in 2015, when she filled an unexpired term due to a Board Member’s resignation.

With a decade of Supervisory Committee experience, a full term as a member of the Board of Directors and her financial background, Deborah will continue to remain an asset to 1st Ed Credit Union.

Dixie Paruch (Incumbent)

Dixie is a retired educator, spending 35 years in the areas of teaching special needs children and in administration. In 2017, she retired as Superintendent of Central Fulton School District.

Retirement has brought new challenges and opportunities as it gives Dixie more time to act on several volunteer experiences. Along with currently being on the 1st Ed Credit Union Board of Directors, she serves on the management team of the Breezewood Trucker Traveler Ministry and the Fulton County Family Partnership Board of Advisors.

Dixie lives in Harrisonville with Bob, her husband of over 40 years, and they have been blessed with 3 daughters who gave them 7 beautiful grandchildren.

In addition to volunteering, Dixie enjoys reading, gardening, and sewing.

 

Robin Harmon (Incumbent)

Robin Harmon is a Franklin County native and a graduate of Chambersburg Area School District. After high school she attended Rutgers University and earned a B.S. in Industrial Engineering. She worked at Lucent Technologies in Massachusetts for 4 years, and during that time earned her M.B.A. from Northeastern University. After studying Industrial Engineering at a Master’s level at Penn State University, she returned to Chambersburg to join her family’s business. The business was sold, and she then worked at Nitterhouse Masonry Products, Manitowoc, the Greater Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce, and the PA CareerLink® Franklin County.

In December of 2021 she accepted a position as the Director of Procurement for Franklin County Government. Additionally, Robin is a volunteer member in numerous organizations, including serving as the Vice Chair for the Board of Directors of the United Way of Franklin County, as a member of the advisory board for Penn State Mont Alto, and a member of the Board of Directors of Letterkenny Industrial Development Authority and the Franklin County Governing Authority.

AJ Yohn

AJ Yohn is a lifelong resident of Franklin County and a third-generation member of 1st Ed Credit Union.

AJ is employed by the US Government Accountability Office as an IT Security Auditor where he takes part in a variety of IT audits, with a specific emphasis on security. His previous audit work includes avionics cybersecurity and the 5G Technology Assessment. He earned a master’s degree in cybersecurity from Utica College and a Bachelor of Science degree in labor studies from the Pennsylvania State University. AJ is also COMPTIA Security+ certified and is experienced in the Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards as well as numerous NIST and ISO security and privacy standards.
